Chapter 67. Role
“Hah… Hah…”
Yejin was panting heavily after we climbed to the 5th floor. Was it because her bag was too heavy?
“Are you struggling that much? Let me take your bag.”
“It’s not… *gasp*… that, it’s just that my Stamina is… *gasp gasp*… really bad…”
“Alright, let’s take a short break then.”
She immediately slumped onto the Living Room floor at my words. Her Stamina was truly abysmal.
While Yejin rested, I went out to the Balcony and tied a Rope to the Fire Hook.
“I’m so sorry… I barely ever exercise…”
After a short wait, Yejin came out, looking utterly helpless. She was so frail; I doubted she could even properly swing the Iron Pipe she held.
*Her Stamina will improve as she gets used to this. So, shall we get going?*
“Yes! I’ll do my best!”
We put down our Backpacks and connected our Safety Ropes. I transferred the spare Rope and weapons from my Backpack into Yejin’s.
“Alright, now get on my back. You can put your feet into these loops.”
“Are you really sure it’s okay? I’m heavier than I look.”
“I could carry a few more people, so don’t worry about that.”
I planned to carry the women, except for Gayoung and Eunmi, on my back to move between floors. That’s why I’d learned knot-tying methods from Eunmi and made loops for their feet.
Yejin hesitated, worrying unnecessarily. Was she afraid of falling? I understood her anxiety, but I couldn’t think of any other way. Climbing the Apartment exterior wall alone seemed too difficult, and even if I went up first and pulled her, the weight burden would be the same.
