Chapter 223. Fishing
Late at night.
An unexpected party was underway on the Rooftop.
It wasn’t a true party in the traditional sense; everyone was working, but the atmosphere was as lively as if they were celebrating. This was because they were processing the flesh of the Monster Fish they had barely managed to drag all the way to the Department Store.
If they had needed to move it over land, they might have given up entirely. The Corpse was simply too massive and heavy.
Sizzle! Sizzle!
The sound of fish meat being grilled echoed from various spots. Not just the sound, but the entire Department Store was permeated with the pungent smell of fish.
Some grilled thick slices of fish meat like steaks, while others seasoned them elaborately before cooking. Still others were boiling spicy fish stew.
No one was preparing food just for themselves; everyone was diligently working on their assigned tasks. They were making late-night snacks because no one knew when the fish storage work would end.
“Nyaaaang~”
Schneider was the only one truly ecstatic, thanks to the Monster Fish. They could eat the Monster Fish’s flesh raw, but they didn’t insist on it. That’s because Schneider could easily digest the seasonings humans used.
‘Their appetite is getting more and more… gourmet.’
Schneider’s palate seemed to be growing increasingly refined. Even while munching on raw fish, they would wander over to where people were grilling and peek around. Whenever Schneider poked their head out, people would toss a piece of fish meat their way.
