Chapter 222. Fishing
Thud!
“Kyaak!”
“Whoa!”
We had just passed through the Main Gate of the Apartment Complex.
Something snagged the bottom of the Boat, and the hull lurched violently. Yuri and Jiwon cried out, bumping their heads against the bow cover.
There must have been something submerged beneath the water. It felt like we had collided with the tip of a tall tree. Fortunately, the Boat was undamaged, and our speed didn’t drop.
As we cleared the Apartment Complex’s Main Gate, the Monster Fish also plunged into the complex. A loud crash echoed from behind us, as if the creature had smashed into something else.
“Haaah!”
Whoosh! Thwack!
I hurled the Iron Rod one more time, aiming to provoke the Monster Fish. This time, however, I caught a glimpse of its form, not just a black shadow. The water here seemed shallower than near the Department Store.
Thanks to that, I could aim for its grotesque Head. By sheer luck, the Iron Rod I threw pierced through the scales on its Head. Still, considering its enormous size, it was probably no more than a tiny thorn embedded in its flesh. Of course, even a small thorn would be annoying if it got stuck in your forehead.
Paaaat!
“Oh, damn it.”
The Monster Fish was truly enraged. It lunged at us with violent, reckless movements. If its previous actions were those of a predator hunting prey, now it clearly wanted to tear us to shreds.
Kwa-ga-ga-ga-gang!
As intended, we succeeded in luring it to chase us into the Apartment Complex. The problem was that it was much stronger than I anticipated. A thunderous crash, like a bomb exploding, reverberated as the Monster Fish slammed into an apartment building. The massive concrete structure shook violently. The Monster Fish continued its pursuit, tearing through the sides of the apartment buildings on both sides.
