Chapter 224. Fishing
The attackers who had completely filled the Rooftop turned out to be a Bird Swarm.
Various species of birds were creating chaos on the Rooftop, all vying for the flesh of the Monster Fish. The smell must have lured them in.
“You crazy bird-brains!”
*Whoosh, Thwack!*
A Monster Bird pecked at a dead woman’s Corpse. I immediately rushed forward and slammed my Baseball Bat into the crazy Monster Bird. The large pigeon couldn’t even resist, offering its Head (derogatory) up for the blow.
*Flap flap flap!*
The birds were completely engrossed in pecking at their food. The Monster Birds devoured everything, indiscriminately eating both fish flesh and Human remains. There was even one with its Head (derogatory) stuck in the cauldron where the spicy fish stew had been boiling.
“Everyone, get down! Quickly. Take care of the injured people too!”
The people were cornered in one part of the Rooftop. I confirmed that Schneider wasn’t in danger but was instead massacring the birds, so I cleared a path for them.
*Thud thud thud!*
*Ppudeudeudeuk!*
Even as I cleared the path, I easily smashed the Monster Birds’ Heads (derogatory). The bird-brains were so fixated on the food before them that they didn’t even notice their comrades’ heads, or their own, being shattered.
‘Pigeons, crows, and what’s that… sparrows?’
Pigeons were the most numerous. These weren’t the plump Chicken-Pigeons commonly seen in Seoul before. They were lean, grotesque monsters with disgusting eyes.
