Chapter 215. City of Water
The woman who had fallen into the water soon resurfaced.
She thrashed violently, her head thrown back.
Splash splash!
“Ugh! Help me! Phew! What are you doing?!” the woman squawked.
Seeing that she still had the energy to scream, perhaps she wasn’t in too much trouble yet. Still, I hurried towards the rooftop railing.
The Ark Annihilation Alliance man in the boat reached out a hand to the flailing woman.
Grab!
“Whoa!”
Splash!
The man, attempting to rescue the woman, was instead pulled in by her, plunging into the water together. Fortunately, the man seemed to know how to swim, as he floated to the surface with stability.
“Missus! Stop! Stay still!”
“Puhaha! Help me!”
Splash splash thwack!
But even with his swimming ability, the problem remained unsolved. The Fat Woman, terrified, kept pushing the Ark Annihilation Alliance man’s head underwater. The man tried to help her, but it seemed futile. In fact, he looked to be in danger himself.
“Stay still. I’ll get you.”
I stopped the other Ark Annihilation Alliance members who were trying to save their comrade and jumped onto the boat. Grabbing the hem of the man’s clothes, who was floundering close to the boat, I pulled him up in one swift motion. The Fat Woman, who had been clinging to the man’s waist as he was pulled up, lost her grip.
Splash!
Now it was the woman’s turn. There was a bit of distance, so I held onto the rope tying the boat and leaned my body. I stretched my hand out as far as I could, but it wasn’t quite enough.
