Chapter 216. City of Water
I had been tricked.
After Euna and I quickly ate and headed back down, there was indeed a giant box attached to the stern of the boat.
*I hadn’t actually expected a real engine…*
When I heard they were going to put a motor on the boat, I thought it would be something that used an energy source to move the boat without me having to exert any strength.
“Do you understand? It’s a type of manual propeller.”
“Yes. I understand. That it’s not a motor.”
Mister Park Won-tae explained how to operate the propeller, including how to steer and what precautions to take. He confidently asserted that since this motor had a simple structure, it was unlikely to break down.
I still didn’t understand why he kept calling it a motor. Even to my untrained eye, it was clearly just a power transmission device.
“It’s something we could only make because you’re so strong. Most people would struggle to turn it even once.”
“Yes. It’ll be really convenient. Certainly better than pulling a rope…”
“Right? Hahaha.”
Mister Park Won-tae let out a hearty laugh, a proud expression on his face, and headed up to the Department Store window. As he left, Yuri and Jiwon came down onto the boat.
The two women stared at the large box attached to the back of the boat with uneasy expressions. Inside the transparent acrylic panel box, several gears were meshed together. When I turned the rotary handle, power would be transmitted through the gears to the two propellers submerged in the water.
