Chapter 214. Flood
In the end, we still used ropes to move the boat on the way back to the Department Store. It seemed faster than waiting for the women to master rowing through practice. Besides, I imagined the practice process would be incredibly frustrating.
And honestly, leaping between buildings alone was surprisingly fun.
“Rescue team coming in!”
As we neared the Department Store, a man on lookout waved a flag, signaling our return. With a leap, I landed on the 4th-floor Window Sill of the Department Store and pulled the rope. Suddenly, the people huddled together in the boat, getting drenched by the pouring rain, looked quite pitiful.
“Good work, everyone. Nothing out of the ordinary?”
“No, everything was fine. Ah, Euna seems a bit unwell.”
“Oh dear. And Taesik-gun?”
“Me? I’m perfectly fine.”
I mentioned Euna’s condition to the Principal, who had come out to greet us. He listened to my words and scanned the approaching boat with a worried expression. However, from this distance, Euna’s face, hidden deep within her Raincoat hood, wasn’t visible.
“Could someone else take over for her? I think she needs some rest.”
“Understood.”
The Principal turned and took a file from Eunji. I wondered if there was anyone who could truly replace Euna.
“Ladder going down!”
“Come up carefully! You’ve all worked hard.”
Euna had joined the rescue team because she could repair the boat on the spot if any issues arose. Of course, her insistence also stemmed from her reluctance to be separated from me. Now, she could go to the Bathroom or handle other personal matters alone. Being apart for a short while in the same space was acceptable, but when I ventured far away like this, she would try to follow me no matter what.
