Chapter 169. Schneider’s Story
“Schneider. When did you get here?”
By now, Schneider had come to understand human speech to some extent. He knew that Taesik always welcomed him warmly. For Schneider, Taesik had become a trustworthy presence, someone who always greeted him with open arms.
“Meow~ Wheeeng.”
“What are you even saying…? Anyway, I’m leaving.”
The only regrettable thing was that Taesik didn’t quite understand his words. Just now, he had been telling Taesik, who was leaving their territory, not to go alone and to take him along.
“Get lost, you rascal.”
Schneider simply ran after Taesik. Running alongside him in that moment was pure joy. As Taesik grew stronger, so did he, allowing them to run side-by-side, matching each other’s pace. Taesik didn’t know, and neither did Schneider, but Schneider was being influenced by Taesik. As his abilities grew stronger, so did Schneider. This gave wings to Schneider, who had evolved from an ordinary cat into an Ability-wielding cat. The Thread of Fate further accelerated his already rapid growth. Schneider, who was already destined to grow beyond the limits of his species, was now able to achieve an even greater size. His senses became far more acute, and his mind grew sharper. The Ability Schneider had gained held many possibilities.
“Hiss! Kyyyaak!”
“Damn it…”
Schneider, who had been playfully messing around next to Taesik as he worked, hissed upon catching the scent of a Wild Dog Pack. The senses of the Ability-wielding cat detected their presence faster than Taesik. The creatures approaching now weren’t the same Wild Dog Pack that had threatened Schneider when he was a kitten. But Schneider hated all dogs.
