Chapter 114. Rescue
“Sparta!”
*Kroooaargh!*
At that single, short shout, the Zombies went berserk and charged.
*Any word would have worked, really.*
*Thwack! Crunch!*
He smashed the Head of the foremost Zombie and retreated.
As he slowly fell back, he took down the ones at the front. The Zombies following behind tripped over each other and fell in a tangled mess.
*Thump-thump-thump-thump!*
The sound of a horde of Zombies rushing in from outside the Building echoed.
It seemed he had successfully drawn their Aggro.
“Come on. Come on.”
He gestured to them, mimicking a protagonist from a movie he’d once seen.
The narrow Corridor.
When the Corridor was packed with more Zombies than he could handle, he ascended the Stairs.
They clawed their way up the Stairs.
He carefully avoided getting his feet bitten, continuously slamming his rifle stock down.
*How considerate of these Zombies to offer their Heads so nicely.*
“This is a sweet way to raise my Acquired stats.”
It was too narrow to swing a weapon properly, but this also meant he didn’t have to worry about being encircled, allowing him to easily dispatch the Zombies.
Eventually, the path became blocked by piles of their Zombie Corpses.
The Zombies could no longer climb over the mounds of their fallen brethren.
“Alright, I’m heading up first. You guys can rot here.”
He abandoned any lingering thoughts about the remaining Zombies and went higher.
He emerged onto the Building’s Rooftop, took a sip of water, and then sprinted towards the adjacent Building.
