Chapter 102
Leaving behind the biting cold and darkness, Dale spoke.
“Stand back.”
Not even the shadow creatures, nor the Death Knights he commanded, were spared. A whirlpool of black-blue swirled at his feet, and the ‘Shadow Cloak’ disguised as a black robe fluttered.
Dale re-gripped his sword. The Peacemaker. At that absurd sight, Mikhail swallowed a breath.
A dark mage would abandon his own creations and confront them wielding nothing but a sword?
“It is utterly reckless.”
Just as Saxon could not, the House of Lancaster could not lightly draw swords against Saxon blood. That was the ‘weight of blood’ borne by all present here.
“Are you afraid to kill me?”
“……”
Dale pressed again.
“Are you afraid of the backlash that would come from killing me here, turning my father and the entire North into enemies?”
Mikhail shook his head.
“I simply do not wish to kill you, Prince.”
“That knight whose neck was severed like a flash of lightning by that sword must be wailing in the afterlife.”
Dale sneered as if it were someone else’s affair.
“We all understand this world isn’t fair, don’t we?”
Michael Lancaster replied flatly. As the legitimate heir of the Third Duke’s House, the empire’s foremost grand duke.
“It is truly fortunate that you think so.”
Dale adjusted his grip on the sword hilt and continued.
“In this utterly unfair and absurd world, nothing that happens is surprising.”
