Chapter 44
Whoosh.
The ship’s hull swayed in the wind.
Within, a man with tattered hands bound together was laboriously dragging his feet.
Following behind him, Khal surveyed the interior of the vessel with a cold, expressionless gaze.
People with bound limbs were trapped inside like slaves. They stared at Khal and Lernoman with lifeless eyes.
“I never imagined anyone would be bold enough to commit such a daring act since Ekaterina II ascended the throne. They certainly have guts. May I ask who their primary clients are?”
“…….”
Despite Lernoman’s question, the blood-stained sailor remained silent.
“H-here it is.”
Instead, he pointed toward a wooden cage tucked away in the furthest corner.
There sat a girl with her hair tied in pigtails, her arms bound so tightly she could barely move.
“Is she the descendant of a witch?”
At Lernoman’s inquiry, the sailor divulged her personal details.
“Her name is Diana Morph Benefica. She’s fourteen years old, a top-tier product we barely managed to salvage from a shipwreck. The ship was flying the flag of the ‘Raven’s Beak,’ so we simply referred to her as the ‘descendant of a witch.’”
Flash!
At the sailor’s words, Diana glared at him with murderous eyes.
The sailor, however, met her gaze with a lewd smirk and continued speaking.
“That fierce look of hers is quite charming, and as a top-quality item that no one has touched yet—”
“That’s enough.”
“What?”
When Khal suddenly cut him off, the man asked back, sounding utterly bewildered.
Thwack!
