Chapter 41
On a rugged cliff.
Whoosh!
As a powerful gust of wind blew, nearly strong enough to push him off his feet, Schmidt trembled.
‘Is he truly fearless? That man.’
Khal was busy building a grave with a look of deep contemplation on his face.
The owner of the grave was a divine beast known as Nobile Leone… Khal had painstakingly dragged it all the way from the underground gladiator arena to this spot to bury it.
“What are you thinking so hard about? Come on, let’s go. What if you fall?”
“I was just thinking. It feels like this is the first time I’ve ever buried someone.”
Since such a thing would have been impossible in his previous life, Khal didn’t know if this was the right thing to do.
If someone were to ask for a reason for his actions, it was simply because he wanted to do it.
Having finished his thoughts, Khal turned to Schmidt and spoke.
“You haven’t left yet?”
“You’re the one who brought me here! Are you planning to throw me away after sucking me dry?!”
Schmidt shouted in disbelief. In fact, he was the one who had practically built Nobile Leone’s grave.
Khal had done nothing except throw a single handful of dirt.
“You can go. You’re free now.”
At Khal’s words, Schmidt’s eyes momentarily welled up. It was the first time in his life he felt such a sense of liberation.
However, he tried his best to hide his joy and frowned sharply.
“If a man is born, he keeps his word. I told you. I’ll make you something that surpasses my master’s sword.”
