Chapter 35
Onyx Square School.
Even though the sword tournament had ended, Khal remained dedicated to his training.
Currently, he stood with a wooden sword in hand, his eyes gently closed.
Rustle!
At that moment, the wind caused a shower of leaves to fall from the spindle tree.
Flash!
With a single strike, the leaves were pulverized into dust, drifting away lazily on the breeze.
“How is that even possible?!”
Lowell could not hide his admiration for Khal’s rapidly improving skills.
McCally clicked her tongue and spoke up. “If you’re going to do that, why not just smash them with brute force?”
“I’m aware.”
The goal of this training was for Khal to accurately identify and cut only a single leaf that McCally had previously marked with dye.
During the exercise, Khal had perfectly predicted the leaves’ trajectory and path.
However, he was struggling with the most crucial part: using only the necessary amount of force.
Normally, he would have replied with his usual arrogant tone.
But because he respected McCally as a teacher, Khal did not offer any clumsy excuses.
‘He’s politely arrogant at times like this, isn’t he?’
Feeling a bit awkward at his uncharacteristic behavior, McCally spoke. “That’s enough for today, Disciple.”
“I can do more.”
Khal gripped the wooden sword so tightly it nearly cracked, seemingly frustrated by his failure to achieve the goal.
Despite his stubbornness, McCally crossed her arms and spoke firmly. “And training with me is suspended for a while. You need a different approach now.”
