Chapter 149
A bright afternoon.
Clatter, clatter.
Goetz, who had been suffering from hunger, was hurriedly clearing the food from the table, true to his massive build.
“That guy’s a total pig.”
Beside him, Hazel, who had finished his meal, spoke with a look of disgust as he put a piece of cake into his mouth.
*Munch, munch.*
“Got a p’oblem?”
Goetz retorted, his mouth stuffed with meat, as if challenging Hazel.
“I can’t understand you, so finish chewing before you speak.”
Hazel clicked his tongue and turned his gaze toward Martin.
Martin happened to be eating dessert as well. The way he nibbled at the cake with his fork made it look like he was savoring it to make it last as long as possible.
‘Now that I think about it, didn’t they say they were all from the streets?’
“Hahaha, it’s truly wonderful to see such healthy young men gathered together.”
Licht, Khal’s attendant, watched Goetz and Martin with a warm smile.
‘Even an old man nearly eighty… what on earth is this guy thinking?’
It was a given that they needed powerful combat strength, but knights who were to be the backbone of an order also needed to possess refinement.
Hazel, looking listless as he sipped his black tea, looked at Khal and asked,
“Aren’t you having any dessert, Commander?”
“I’m not particularly fond of sweets.”
*Purr.*
As he answered, Khal stroked the head of Bagrova, who was acting cute and licking its paws at his feet.
The creature, which had grown to the size of a wolf since they last saw it, was beginning to sprout a red mane around its neck and head, as if to prove it was becoming a proper adult.
