After dealing with the assassins from Menos Tembel, Khal set out on an exploration with Berio Walker to find the parasitic tree, ‘Tara’.
While it was not yet certain that Tara was growing there naturally, Khal and Berio proceeded with their search cautiously, treating it as an established fact.
The Circuit manifested by Khal spread out in all directions, searching for any traces of Tara.
Perhaps possessing a significant aptitude for magic himself, Berio Walker saw through the principles of the Circuit in an instant.
“It’s a method of transmitting magic and mana through modulation and demodulation. To think such wide-range detection is possible depending on the application… it’s truly remarkable.”

Khal stared at Berio Walker with an expression of disbelief. When he had first seen the Circuit, he hadn’t been able to fully grasp its principles so quickly.
“The remarkable one is McCally,” Khal said, revealing his honest thoughts. Berio Walker shook his head.
“Both are remarkable. It was created by McCally and perfected through you, Kalliant. In a way, it’s the most ideal master-disciple relationship.”
If McCally had been there, she likely would have retorted, ‘Are your eyes just for decoration?’

Having finished his search, Khal stopped the emission of mana.
“You look quite exhausted.”
