Chapter 109
The Sword Sanctuary.
“Pant, pant.”
Thwack!
Hiding inside one of the buildings, Kalliant was gasping for air as he pulled a dagger from his right arm.
“A-Are you alright?”
Berio Walker hurriedly fumbled through his bag to provide first aid, but—
Crunch!
Kalliant abruptly used Bierbell to stab deep into the wound, forcing the blood out.
Drip, drip.
His face splattered with Kalliant’s blood, Berio shouted with trembling hands.
“A-Are you insane?! *Ugh!*”
“It’s because of the poison. I’m not crazy.”
Kalliant pushed Berio’s face away with his palm and quickly pressed on the blood vessels in his arm to stop the bleeding.
Rip!
Simultaneously, he tore his right sleeve to apply pressure to the wound.
“Do you have an antidote?”
“I-I do, but I’m not sure if it’s the right one for that specific poison…”
“Anything that neutralizes it will do. It doesn’t matter which one.”
At Kalliant’s demand, he pulled an antidote from his bag and handed it over.
Kalliant downed it and slowly steadied his breathing.
Berio watched with an expression of disbelief as Kalliant regained his composure with astonishing speed.
‘Is… Is he really just a student? How can he improvise like that in such an absurd situation?’
Even for a genius receiving a high-level education, maintaining such equanimity on a battlefield where swords and blood flew wildly was nearly impossible.
Some would feel crushing guilt over killing, while others might faint at the sight of death right before their eyes.
Under normal circumstances, it was hard for anyone to keep their sanity, yet Kalliant showed no sign of distress.
