Chapter 103
The Princess of a Fallen Kingdom.
The play told the story of a princess who, after losing her country, used every scheme and artifice at her disposal to throw the enemy’s imperial court into chaos in order to kill the emperor.
As a result, the emperor became unable to govern properly, captivated by her as the empire gradually spiraled toward ruin.
However, even the princess, filled with poisonous spite, began to fall in love after sensing the emperor’s true heart.
Because that love could never be realized…
Whoosh.
In the finale, the emperor and the princess vanished into each other’s arms amidst a burning palace.
“I wish even this heart that loves you would evaporate. Why didn’t you just kill me back then instead!”
The princess’s sorrowful gaze at the end struck a chord in the hearts of the audience.
“Sniff, sniff.”
Delphina seemed deeply moved as well, her eyes glistening with tears.
Khal quietly handed her a handkerchief that Rain had prepared in advance.
“Thank you.”
Delphina took the handkerchief and wiped her eyes, while Khal stood with his arms crossed, wearing a blunt expression.
‘…That was actually good.’
His internal thoughts were the complete opposite of his outward appearance. He didn’t say it out loud because it felt somewhat embarrassing, though.
Catherine’s acting was truly chilling. The process of how a cheerful girl turned so venomous after losing her country and family looked incredibly realistic.
The play concluded as the illusion magic faded away. Overall, it was a melodrama of a quality one could never witness outside of Isilia.
