Chapter 80. Crisis
“We’ve entered the Apartment Entrance!”
“Prepare for combat!”
Sujin shouted, her voice trembling.
Almost simultaneously, the sounds of monsters reached their ears.
*Thump-thump-thump-thump!*
*Groooowl!*
The roads within the complex seemed too narrow. The ground was invisible, covered by Zombies swarming like an ant colony. The sheer numbers made the ground tremble and the leaves rustle.
“Shield.” “Shield!”
A large Shield materialized above the car I was standing on. Several obstacle-like Shields appeared around the main Barrier.
“Hyaaaah! Car!”
*Whoosh! Crash!*
I hurled one of the cars we’d moved earlier into the approaching horde of Zombies. It didn’t fly far, but its overwhelming mass exerted immense physical force.
“Compression!”
A bullet-like water projectile shot out, piercing the head of a leading Zombie. This was the result of Sora developing her Ability. At first, she used her Ability in the form of elongated water arrows. Now, through practice and investing Acquired points, her Compression rate had increased, allowing her to compress and fire water into small, thin bullets. Thanks to this, her water consumption decreased, enabling her to use her Ability more frequently.
After confirming this, I jumped down and lifted another car.
“Teleport”
The thick, wide Shield that had been deployed in front of me shot forward. The Shield flew rapidly, drawing a diagonal line towards the ground, quickly becoming a transparent wall blocking the Zombie horde.
