Chapter 375. Runaway
I sprinted ahead of Seonyoung and found a suitable spot.
It was a relatively clean rural house with a spacious yard.
First, I lit a fire in the yard.
I tidied up the collapsed stone wall and roughly leveled it.
I placed some of the food supplies I’d brought from home on the stone wall.
Clean water and cooking tools were also taken out.
‘She needs to make it all the way here.’
Seonyoung might find another place to rest before she reaches me.
I had checked that there weren’t any suitable spots on the way, but it was her decision.
If she got tired or hungry, she might just stop anywhere.
Worried about that, I brought a calendar from inside the house.
I decorated the stone wall by writing various things on the large calendar with a marker pen.
And then, just as I finished making a crude mask.
‘Good timing.’
In the distance, I saw Seonyoung walking towards me.
I quickly put on the calendar mask to cover my face.
I’d punched holes and attached strings, but when I actually wore it, the mask slipped a little.
The holes for the eyes didn’t quite align, slightly obscuring my vision.
“Oppa… what are you doing?”
A moment later, Seonyoung spotted me and walked straight over.
She didn’t seem surprised at all.
Rather, it felt like she had expected me to be there.
“Welcome… I am a merchant for wanderers who roam alone.”
I lowered my voice, trying to create a mysterious atmosphere.
It was just an act.
