Chapter 206. Night Raid
How did things end up like this?
In truth, the moment Ark 2 and Ark 3 fell, the battle against the Ark could be considered won.
The reason I spoke with Go Suran and launched the Night Raid immediately that night was to catch them off guard.
If the Ark Faction learned that their Monster Response Team had been completely wiped out by me, their vigilance would only increase.
The hasty decision proved successful.
Ark 1 was the largest and boasted the most elite troops, yet they had lost over half their fighting force.
The remaining Ark Faction members could be dealt with slowly, bleeding them dry.
However, the original plan was to capture the Cult leader or completely dismantle their forces within a single night.
So, after taking down two Arks and feeling a surge of confidence, I pushed forward with the original plan.
Ark 1 had established its base in a Department Store.
They deployed Zombies as a frontal assault, while Schneider and I secretly infiltrated the Department Store through an adjacent building.
This time, Somi and Euna were with us too.
I believed it would be safer for them to be with Schneider and me than to leave them among the Zombies.
Even though the Ark Faction already knew of our attack, it didn’t change the overall tide of battle.
The difference in our power levels was simply too vast.
The Department Store building was a tall structure, over ten stories high, but most of its floors were used as storage rooms for Food Supplies.
The actual living space for people didn’t even amount to four floors.
