Chapter 184. Ark
“It’s quiet…”
“Yeah. No zombies, no people.”
They had entered the Bustling City District. They walked along a road lined densely with Apartment Complexes and Commercial Buildings. Having come from a place with wide-open views of Rice Paddies and Fields, it felt as if they had stepped into a Jungle. The thought crossed his mind that Zombies or Looters might be watching them from within this Forest of Buildings, a creation of humanity.
*Seriously. How long had it even been since I left the countryside?*
Despite his worries, the streets remained eerily silent. Perhaps it was due to the rain; Zombies typically had trouble hearing their surroundings during heavy downpours.
“Let’s check out that school.”
“Okay.”
The Bridge they had crossed when leaving Guri was nearby. Back then, they had fought the Ark Faction on that very Bridge. The Ark Faction had been monitoring all the main Alleyways leading into and out of Guri City. Suspecting the Ark Faction might still be doing the same, they decided against crossing the Bridge immediately, opting instead to observe it from a distance.
*I feel a little uneasy about this…*
Searching for a building from which they could observe the Bridge, a high school building caught his eye. The entire Riverside area was developed into a Park, and this School Building was the only tall structure nearby. The fact that it was a school made him slightly uneasy, but he passed through the School Gate, prepared to retreat if necessary.
