Chapter 134. Cheongpyeong
Last night.
While showering, Hyeji and Euna called out to me, asking if they could do laundry.
So, I grabbed a large water jug to replenish our dwindling water supply and left.
But I didn’t head straight for the North Han River tributary.
I intended to scout the clearing around our Tent one more time for any other threats.
And up until now, I had deliberately prevented situations where Euna and Hyeji would be left alone.
‘Hyeji was definitely the one who brought up the laundry.’
At Hyeji’s request, this was the first time the two women would be left by themselves.
Of course, I could have avoided it this time too, but I decided to agree.
It was because of the sounds I overheard while peeking at them showering.
The crackling of the Firewood and the sound of water as the women washed.
Amidst it, I faintly heard Hyeji’s soft words to Euna.
‘Euna. Don’t you want to do laundry? Women should change their Underwear often.’
Her voice was quiet, hushed.
As if she specifically didn’t want me to hear.
So, I suppressed my presence around the Tent and strained my ears.
It was a hunch, but Hyeji seemed to have some intention in wanting me to leave.
Perhaps a minute or two passed after the women, from their perspective, thought I had left.
Then, a small voice spoke again.
The sound of water falling from the Water Tank interfered with eavesdropping, but by concentrating, I could understand the conversation well enough.
‘Hmm~ I wonder how long Euna has known Taesik Oppa?’
