Chapter 133. Cheongpyeong
“It stopped, didn’t it?”
“Damn it… What do we do?”
Hiding behind a Truck abandoned on the roadside, I surveyed our surroundings. To the right of the road ahead, there was a small Restaurant. To the left, just a mountain.
“Let’s wait a bit. If it doesn’t move, we’ll go back into the mountain.”
The reason for our dilemma was the gigantic snake blocking the road ahead. Seeing its appearance, I wondered if this was even Korea. It was coiled up in the shade, so I couldn’t tell its exact length. We were still a bit far, but even from this distance, its body seemed as thick as my thighs. From its Head, almost as thick as its body, a tongue flicked in and out continuously. Its scales were predominantly reddish, with square-shaped Red patterns scattered throughout.
“Would you like some water?”
“Yeah, thanks.”
“What kind of thing just wanders around on the roadside? Is this what k-countryside is like?”
“Right? Hehehe. It’s absurd.”
The reason we could afford to be so relaxed was that the creature remained perfectly still, not moving an inch. We waited for a while, but the snake seemed content in the cool shade cast by the Restaurant’s fence, showing no intention of moving.
“It would be too much to try and catch that snake, wouldn’t it?”
“Well… if it’s venomous, it’s too dangerous.”
None of us three knew anything about snakes. At best, we only knew the hearsay that a triangular Head meant it was venomous. Moreover, animals are mutating, so there’s no telling what abilities that snake might possess.
