Chapter 128. Companion
The morning sun rose a little higher, and the mist cleared.
While I was talking with Hyeji, Euna, who had woken up, came out. As usual, she approached me and hugged me first. After holding Euna for a moment, we went to the Bathroom together as part of our routine and had breakfast.
Ever since I started traveling with two women, we’ve been going to the Bathroom far too often. Hyeji hadn’t been shackled since last night, so I wouldn’t mind sending her alone, but now it seems we’ll often go together for a different reason.
‘The kid seems completely uninterested in Hyeji.’
Euna sat close to me, eating breakfast. While we ate, Hyeji was busy packing and tidying up the surroundings. One might wonder why Hyeji wasn’t eating, but Euna didn’t question it at all, focusing solely on her meal.
“Euna, let’s get ready to leave after you wash up. I’ll finish tidying here.”
“…”
“Alright… let’s go together.”
After finishing her meal, when I told Euna to go wash up by herself, she made a sad face. I had no choice but to take her hand again today and head to the Shower Room together.
Not that I followed her inside. I just killed time outside, puffing on a cigarette.
‘This is a waste of time. I need a solution…’
“Taesik Oppa.”
“Huh? Are you done washing?”
“Yeah… let’s go.”
At least it didn’t take as long as the first time she washed in the Zombie Zone. Anyway, we wouldn’t be able to wash for a while once we hit the road, so I stopped thinking and returned to the RV. We packed up after what felt like a short night’s rest by the Han River bank.
