Chapter 123. Escape
The largest Black Wild Dog, seemingly the Leader Dog of the pack, was covered in wounds, both big and small. Yet, it stood tall and unyielding, as if these injuries were nothing to it.
“Tough one, aren’t you? So… are you going to have a scuffle with me too?”
I gripped the Bat in one hand, swinging it idly as I slowly approached the beast.
The Leader Dog took a step back. Its stiff tail, which had been held high, drooped low.
“Alright. Then, how about we deal with these guys first?”
As the silent standoff between the Leader Dog and me ended, Euna walked out into the clearing. She held an Aluminum Bat in one hand.
“Ugh…”
Whoosh, thwack!
A man lying in Euna’s path let out a groan. Without hesitation, she swung her Bat. The man twitched violently once, then fell silent.
“Is this the entire pursuit team? Don’t you think we should Interrogate them a bit?”
“Yeah…”
I walked around the clearing, searching for any human in the best possible condition. After all, a good condition would make the torture more effective. So, for those who were barely clinging to life after being attacked by the Wild Dogs, I simply smashed their heads with the Bat.
“Taesik Oppa…”
“Huh? Oh, right.”
Hearing a girl, who was more than twelve years younger than me, call me “Oppa” made me feel like I was committing some kind of sin. Still, it wasn’t a bad feeling to be called Oppa by name.
“This woman is fine.”
“Alright, let’s take her.”
None of the humans were in good condition. Amidst them, there was one woman who was unusually well-preserved. After confirming the woman was unconscious and motionless, I went around smashing the heads of the other humans with my Baseball Bat.
