Chapter 34 Transmission
It bears repeating: in the Jianghu Martial World, the value of martial arts is undeniably sacred.
People would exchange fortunes for martial arts, and readily sacrifice their lives for them.
Whenever a secret manual of an old master’s martial arts, or a treasure map leading to such a master’s special cave, surfaced, a bloody storm would inevitably sweep through the Jianghu Martial World. This was all because martial arts held such invaluable worth.
If even ownerless martial arts commanded such reverence, what then of those with an owner?
Assuming the quality of the martial arts was equal, their value would only increase, never diminish. People would choose suicide rather than let their martial arts be stolen, and those who dared to steal them would become irreconcilable enemies, relentlessly pursued for elimination.
This wasn’t merely the case in the mortal realm. Surprisingly, even the Daoist Sect, which aimed to shed desires and ascend to immortality, and the Buddhist Sect, which similarly sought nirvana, were even more extreme.
Wasn’t it standard practice to cripple the Dantian and sever the meridians of the four limbs of any disciple who, after learning the main branch martial arts, violated the precepts or attempted to leave without permission, resulting in an expulsion order?
