Chapter 114 Pursuit
The history of tea is long.
And the history of teahouses was also long.
Starting from the dagwan (teahouse) created during the Tang Dynasty, passing through the Song and Yuan Dynasties, teahouses became completely popularized in the Ming Dynasty, even seeing the emergence of specialized tea shops that exclusively dealt with tea, excluding the alcohol and food they initially handled.
However, because tea had become so ingrained in daily life, there were also places where one could simply spread out tables on the roadside and rest with a cup of tea, rather than formal, luxurious teahouses that emphasized etiquette.
The place Namgung-woo and Myorin entered was closer to the latter.
It occupied an entire two-story building, but it was a place where one could relax comfortably without worrying about tea ceremonies or anything of the sort, and it sold not only tea but also alcohol and food.
Aside from the variety of teas and the lack of lodging, it was not much different from a regular Inn. However, it wasn’t very popular among Martial Artists, who lived harsh lives where their lives hung in the balance and alcohol was their companion. Ordinary Common Folk, on the other hand, sought out such places more often to avoid Martial Artists.
“I get that we came here to avoid the eyes of Martial Artists… but shouldn’t we be looking for him?” Myorin asked.
“Luoyang is vast. We won’t find him just by wandering around aimlessly. He’s probably already noticed that someone is chasing him.”
