Chapter 64: The Guest and the Bastard 5
The hour of the Pig (9 PM to 11 PM) was drawing to a close.
The clouds had dispersed, and the moonlight shone quite brightly. But Seo Mun-geuk lay sprawled out, thoroughly drunk.
Baek Moo-jin, who had been drinking with him, looked at Seo Mun-geuk with a sober expression.
“Brother Seo-mun, are you very drunk?”
Seo Mun-geuk gave no answer.
Losing consciousness from drunkenness was extremely rare for Seo Mun-geuk, a heavy drinker. Baek Moo-jin breathed in the night air and left Seo Mun-geuk to sleep there for a while. He planned to wait about half an hour before waking Seo Mun-geuk and heading back.
Baek Moo-jin suddenly noticed something and curled the corners of his mouth upward. Before losing consciousness, Seo Moon-geuk had been explaining why he used the iron wire as his weapon. He had lost consciousness before Baek Moo-jin could hear the whole story, but Seo Moon-geuk’s right hand, hanging limply by his side, still clutched the iron wire.
Baek Moo-jin crossed his arms and stared blankly at Seo Mun-geuk’s iron wire. It was a martial arts sect that used palm techniques; who could understand Seo Mun-geuk’s feelings as he wielded iron wire?
Baek Moo-jin wanted to comfort Seo Mun-geuk, but the words were, in truth, very difficult to offer.
‘So what if he’s a bastard? Brother Ximen can still establish his own family in the future.’
Xu Wenju bore a different kind of anguish entirely from the sorrowful vow of the Snow Mountain Bai Clan that Baek Moo-jin occasionally felt.
