Chapter 111: Tang Ye-eun-2
Startled by our sudden appearance, the guards immediately drew their swords toward us and shouted.
“Who goes there?!”
“Who the hell are you?!”
But the moment they saw our faces, they froze in place, their mouths agape.
“Guess…!”
“That…!”
I had expected something like this, but their even more intense reaction made a bitter smile escape me.
Their eyes were all fixed on Lady Tang’s face.
They stood there with blank expressions, mouths agape, seemingly oblivious even to the current situation.
‘Well, that worked out nicely.’
Their pathetic expressions aside, this situation itself was exactly the picture I’d wanted.
The reason I revealed myself before making a decision was to observe their reaction upon seeing the young lady.
I stepped forward first, bowing to them as I spoke.
“I was just passing by when I heard the commotion and came to see. But it seems many of you are intimidating one person.”
The first to react to my words was the burly man among the warriors.
He scowled fiercely and shouted at me.
“If you were just passing by, you’d keep passing! How dare you barge in here?! Do you dare disrupt our thousand-year ceremony?!”
But the eyes of the one shouting still darted toward Lady Tang.
The unmistakable glint of greed in those eyes was plain for me to see.
‘Hmm, you lot get a demerit for that.’
Their reaction allowed me to roughly judge them.
It wasn’t the blatant greed like those Blood Sect bastards, but they certainly weren’t the kind of people you could call righteous.
