Paradis, thick with dense trees, was not merely a place where life pulsed with benevolence. It was a hazardous region where dangerous monsters like trolls lurked… and it was especially treacherous at night.
The night in Paradis was so dark that it was difficult to discern anything. However, this only applied to ordinary cases. Right now, two beings stood here who were unaffected by any such odds or variables. Two of them, in fact.

In this very moment, the intense deep green mana and the crimson mana emitted by these two beings intertwined, illuminating the dark night. Their light was directed toward a Killer Bee colony.

The Killer Bees swarmed toward the two of them, their wings fluttering at invisible speeds. Normally, their role was to collect food for the larvae, but they had one command they had to follow above all else: protect the Queen at all costs. They seemed to instinctively sense that Khal and Verde were threats to her.
‘To be precise, they are terrified of this thing’s presence.’
Khal pulled out a small glass bottle from his robe. The tiny Killer Bee inside the bottle was spinning in circles, sensing that the Queen was nearby. Khal observed the bees with an analytical gaze and spoke to Verde.
“You’ll have to move much faster than you think. Just so you know, I’ll abandon you if you’re useless.”
“Arrogant until the very end,” Verde remarked, looking baffled. Khal let out a smirk and added one more thing.
“See for yourself whether it’s arrogance or not.”
