Chapter 86
Deses suddenly suggested a jousting match.
‘He wants to use this as a warm-up.’
In truth, when two people became arch-nemeses to this extent, they were bound to be curious about each other’s skills.
“I don’t have a horse to ride.”
Thud!
Khal had no intention of falling for such a provocation, so he threw the helmet back to Deses.
“You’re spouting pathetic excuses, which isn’t like you.”
Deses taunted Khal with a sarcastic tone.
At those words, the veins on Khal’s forehead throbbed. He had been trying his best to control his temper and do good deeds, but for some reason, his killing intent surged whenever he saw this guy…
‘Ah, rehabilitation is truly difficult.’
Grin!
But at some point, the corners of Khal’s mouth curled up like a mischievous boy.
“Don’t cry later.”
“Don’t worry about that. I haven’t shed a single tear since the day I was born.”
Deses retorted with a refreshing smile.
“…”
The palms of those watching the two bicker were becoming damp with sweat.
‘It feels like a conversation between heads of state on the brink of war.’
Even Delphina, a member of the Eclat Sept, was feeling extremely tense from the pressure.
* * *
The jousting match between Khal and Deses was confirmed.
Even though it was just a practice match, the news that the two apexes of Partes Academy were facing off caused a massive stir.
Buzz, buzz!
The crowds flocking to the arena were like rolling waves.
“Lord Kalliant will win!”
“What are you talking about? Anyone can see Lord Deses is going to win.”
