Chapter 77
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.
Living as a human, Khal was deeply feeling the true meaning behind those words.
‘But this is so annoying I can hardly stand it.’
There were certain realms where effort simply wasn’t enough.
That realm was ‘Music,’ one of the liberal arts subjects at Partes Academy.
Currently, he was plucking at a lyre alongside the other students.
Twang!
Every time Khal plucked a string, a heavy, unpleasant sound rang out that grated on the ears.
“Wow! Isn’t that a complete lack of talent?”
“He’s completely different from Deses in that regard.”
The students watched in fascination, finding it strange that there was actually something Khal was bad at.
Glare!
Khal silently narrowed his eyes at the whispering boys.
“Hic!”
Terrified by his gaze, they quickly looked away and began playing their own instruments.
Even though they were fellow third-year students and technically a year older than Khal, they had already succumbed to the sheer pressure in his eyes.
Of course, Khal didn’t care about such things. Instead, he was lost in thought.
He was wondering why he had even joined this class in the first place.
‘I don’t even know why I’m doing this. Honestly.’
Even to himself, it made little sense. Since it was a liberal arts subject, it didn’t even affect his grades. It seemed much better to spend this time training to become stronger.
‘Creating music to feel excitement…’
Khal was feeling a spark of interest in an experience he had never known in his previous life. To a demon, excitement was something only felt when proving their superior strength in battle.
