Chapter 54
After a grueling voyage, mealtime finally arrived.
Inside the ship, groups of sailors chattered loudly, their voices blending into a lively din.
Even so, their gazes were fixed on Khal’s group, who had recently joined them. It was a mix of curiosity toward the strangers and a sense of fresh expectation.
And one among them was certainly living up to those expectations.
Gulp! Gulp!
Schmidt’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he downed his beer in one refreshing go.
“Gahahaha! I’m telling you, any noble lady would covet the crafts I make. They’re that exquisite. I’m only in this mess because I happened to meet a very strange fellow. This is where my true value shines!”
He laughed heartily, deftly bending a wire to create a magnificent headband ornament.
“Ooooh!!”
“Make one for me too!”
“Could you make some for my wife and daughter as well?”
Fascinated by his skill, the sailors’ eyes sparkled as they pressed him to make things for them.
“It’s dinner time, you lot! I’ll do it later. Later!”
Schmidt barked at them, but soon burst into laughter along with the sailors.
“It seems Mr. Schmidt was born for the sea,” Diana remarked with a chuckle, watching him befriending the crew so quickly.
However, she had yet to realize that the one drawing the most attention there was herself…
A group of young boys began to shower her with questions all at once.
“You’re cute. How old are you?”
“Do you, uh, have a boyfriend?”
