Chapter 47
“I am one who holds discipline sacred. From the very center of the scales, I shall never turn my eyes toward vanity.
As a servant faithful to my mission.
I shall gladly offer my life to wipe from this land those hollow beings who do not know the weight of sin.”
Bezel’s prayer continued deep into the night.
As if a falling droplet caused ripples in a lake, the Divine Power emanating from his entire body spread faintly throughout the vessel.
It was both a prayer and a holy spell to protect nearby allies: Salvatio.
A divine magic that only those of Bishop rank or higher could manifest, it amplified the Divine Power of the Paladins under its grace.
He hadn’t used it intentionally; it was simply a natural byproduct of his habitual prayer.
However, for Timid, who stood right beside Bezel, it was a hellish ordeal.
Opposing attributes are destined to clash as they attempt to erase one another.
Though he served under Bezel, Timid’s foundation was that of a Black Magic user.
Consequently, two conflicting energies waged war within his body. Since Bezel’s Divine Power was so overwhelmingly potent, Timid had to endure a pain that felt as if his entire body were being torn to shreds.
‘I’m going to lose my mind.’
He knew he wasn’t treated as a proper subordinate.
But he never imagined he would be treated so much like thin air.
Boom! Boom!
[Guaaaah!]
[It’s an enemy! Catch him, quickly!]
Just then, Timid flinched at the strange screams and thundering sounds coming from outside. He urgently called out to Bezel.
