Chapter 181
Clamor and murmurs filled the air.
“What just fell?”
“Something massive seems to have crashed over there.”
The Sanctuarium Paladins, defenders of the sanctuary known as Divine, stared toward the collapsed temple with faces etched in anxiety.
This place was Divine, a sanctuary and a piece of Magical Heritage.
At the same time, the history and artifacts of Sanctuarium were woven into its very foundation. Since one of their most vital temples had been shattered by something falling from the sky, the Paladins naturally grew tense.
It was then that a shadow emerged from the billowing smoke.
“W-who goes there?!”
Just as one of the panicked Paladins was about to draw his sword—
Clang!
Marchel, a member of the Eclat Sept who had appeared out of nowhere, struck the Paladin’s sword away and spoke.
“Sheathe your blade. Who do you think you’re looking at?”
Step, step.
As soon as he finished speaking, Deses Sinclair emerged from the smoke, his right face splattered with blood.
“L-Lord Deses!”
Realizing his grave mistake, the Paladin immediately bowed in respect. Deses, however, walked forward with a cold, rigid expression rarely seen on his face.
“How did you get here?”
Marchel posed the question quietly but firmly, ensuring no one else could hear.
“Haven’t you realized by now? That I am not human?”
His nerves were clearly frayed; Deses spoke with a killing intent directed even toward Marchel.
Schwing!
Normally, one would have recoiled in the face of such overwhelming pressure. However, Marchel drew his sword and pointed it at Deses’s throat.
