Chapter 14
Chapter 14
Whoosh!
The punch he threw snapped forward with the speed and flexibility of a released spring.
It took less than a second to reach the point of impact.
Crunch!
The struck assassin collapsed, unable to even perceive the fist flying toward him.
“You son of a bitch!!!”
One of the assassins, startled by Khal’s overwhelming destructive power and speed, tried to slash his chest with a knife. But before he could, Khal swung his fist as if swatting a nuisance, catching the man on the cheek…
Crack.
Boom!
His neck snapped entirely, and he died instantly.
“I-It’s impossible! How can he do this with his bare hands!”
Khal’s foot slammed down onto the solar plexus of the last man remaining, who had collapsed in despair.
Boom!
As his back hit the ground, his skeleton shattered with a sickening crunch, and he coughed up blood.
Gush!
“Cough, hack. Gaaaah! Save me. Stop! I was wrong!”
His mask was soaked in crimson blood. Khal grabbed it and ripped it open with a sharp tear.
To his surprise, the face revealed in the faint light was Ariel, a student of the Sceletus School.
Ariel trembled, unable to believe the reality before him.
Just one person. That one person had annihilated assassins who had made killing their profession for years—bare-handed and without a single scratch.
His movements weren’t particularly refined by martial arts. He had simply swung his arms and legs brutally, utilizing overwhelming kinetic vision.
Only then could Ariel look Khal directly in the eyes. Those deep crimson eyes, their depth impossible to fathom, did not pale even when compared to the eyes of Deses, which usually overwhelmed one’s heart and mind. No, they seemed to surpass him.
“You… monster.”
Only then did Ariel realize he had picked the wrong opponent, and terror seized him.
Khal smirked and spoke slowly.
“As I see it, you lack agency. You aren’t bold enough to pull something like this on your own. In my experience, there was probably pressure from someone else.”
“T-That’s right. Deses made me do it. I really had no choice.”
Ariel agreed with Khal’s words and pleaded his innocence.
“Oh, really?”
“M-My name is Ariel Rafta. I’m the second son of the Rafta Merchant Guild. S-Since I’ve revealed my name and background, you understand, right? If you let me live, I can provide you with wealth rivaling that of a lord of a territory.”
Khal narrowed his eyes slightly and spoke.
“I am Kalliant Stark. The youngest son of the Stark Family.”
