Chapter 70. Schneider
“Wow, there’s a lot of flour here. Can we take it all?”
“Yeah, we have the cart. Let’s grab all the powdered goods.”
“Powdered goods are the best…”
In the early dawn, we all left the house to clear out C Zone.
C Zone was a densely packed commercial district, full of restaurants.
If we were lucky, we could even find grains like flour or rice in sacks.
“Let’s stop here and head back. The cart’s already full.”
I wasn’t sure what the Bungeoppang Cart’s actual loading capacity was. Roughly calculating the supplies we’d loaded, it was already over 300kg.
As we exited the Japanese restaurant we’d just cleared, Sujin and Gayoung stood side-by-side at the entrance. Sujin was using her ability to keep watch, while Gayoung acted as escort.
“Hup!”
“You’ve worked hard.”
As I picked up Sujin, who was still using her ability, and placed her in the cart, Gayoung said in a sleepy voice, “What’s wrong? You seem low on energy today?”
“I didn’t sleep well last night. I’m going to eat lunch and rest a bit.”
I knew she usually pushed herself to her limits every day and then fell asleep as if collapsing. Had things finally gotten a bit easier? This was the first time I’d heard her say she didn’t sleep well since the Zombie Apocalypse began.
We hurried our steps before it got even hotter.
We returned home safely, ate lunch, and began clearing out the Apartment.
“It’s my turn to start today.”
“Alright, are you ready?”
“Yes. Phew… I’m nervous.”
Sora, dressed in her gear, came over.
“Shall we have a smoke before we start?”
