The stench.
Every conceivable odor assailed my nose.
If smells had colors, the area around the bed would be a vibrant, nauseating kaleidoscope.
Such was the variety of strong, foul odors stinging my nostrils. The stench was so intense it gave me a headache.
“Get up, all of you.”
“We can’t…”
“Damn it. This crazy bitch.”
Three Boys lay beneath the bed. I called them Boys because they looked so young. The oldest one seemed no older than a middle school student.
He stepped forward, showing me his wrists and ankles. They were tightly bound with Binding Rope. His hands were encased in thick, fingerless ski gloves.
“How long have you been tied up?”
“I… I don’t know. Several weeks. She unties us sometimes, but…”
The children’s reactions were strange. They didn’t seem surprised by my sudden appearance, merely staring at me. It was an unnatural response for children. Not calm, but rather, apathetic.
I pushed my questions aside for a moment and began untying the middle school student first.
“Damn it… Haah… You don’t have to force yourself up, just wait a moment.”
“Yes… but who are you, hyung?”
Even after I untied him, the Boy couldn’t stand on his own. I lifted him and carried him towards a Table. As I held him, the foul odors intensified. The smell of rotten feces, ammonia, and traces of vomit around his mouth. It was astonishing that he could speak to me so clearly.
