Chapter 198. Alliance
What greeted us was not human.
A colossal zombie, easily seven to eight meters tall, loomed over us.
“Damn it.”
I quickly scanned my surroundings, raising my Baseball Bat.
The Giant Zombie stood in the middle of the Grass Field. Around this colossal creature, at least fifty other Zombies were clustered together.
Yet, to my embarrassment, the Zombies merely stood still, perfectly docile.
“Where is she?! Go Suran, show yourself!”
Kwaaaak!
The overwhelming pressure from the Giant Zombie prevented me from rushing in recklessly, so I focused on finding Go Suran first.
The Giant Zombie then opened its mouth and let out a strange sound.
“Ac…cept… it.”
“Huh? What the fuck? Did it just speak?”
I hadn’t felt this way since the first day of the Zombie Apocalypse. It felt like my sense of reality was crumbling.
The Giant Zombie let out another monstrous cry, as if clearing its throat, then continued speaking. Human words. And in a woman’s voice.
It wasn’t a normal voice, but a slow, deep, almost ship-horn-like female voice.
“A Zombie… speaking?”
“What in the world…”
Euna and Mina, equally startled, barely managed to utter a single word in trembling voices. The situation felt utterly surreal.
“First, Zombies hiding… now they can talk? And where’s Go Suran?”
My senses, accustomed to the surreal events of late, proved helpful in this moment. I took a deep breath, composed myself, and attempted to communicate with the Giant Zombie. Whether the Zombie could talk or shit, I decided to prioritize achieving my objective.
