Chapter 188. Ark
I had briefly thought of the Ark as an established organization, but I knew I needed to verify its true nature myself.
Still, everything the Enforcer had said so far had plausible reasons, even if they were distorted to fit reality.
So, after a moment’s hesitation about whether to overturn the situation or not, I decided to endure a little longer.
‘It felt like I was being extorted…’
It wasn’t that they were trying to take advantage of me; I got the sense that this was genuinely their rule. Mina wouldn’t agree, but she had already fallen into the Ark’s possession.
“Huu… It can’t be helped, if those are the rules. I suppose I’ll have to bring out something I cherish.”
I rummaged through my Backpack and pulled out a Glass Bottle. I had personally brewed it before leaving Choguljae.
“Oh? Is this, perhaps…”
“Yes. It’s Bellflower Root Liquor. A very rare one. It should have quite a potent medicinal effect.”
“Haha. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen something like this…”
Gyuhyeok looked conflicted. I didn’t know how much value they would place on the liquor. Of course, it hadn’t been long since it was brewed, so drinking it now would just be like a distilled liquor.
“Phew… I can’t deny it’s a valuable item. Alright.”
He accepted my deal. Seeing his eyes light up, it seemed Gyuhyeok would probably gulp down the Bellflower Root Liquor himself. I must have perfectly targeted the middle-aged man’s taste.
“This is me giving you a little extra. But I can’t return the items already confiscated. That’s considered a fine, you see.”
