Chapter 180. Monsoon
After a brief taste of Milk with Euna, I packed our belongings once more.
The Food Supplies Mina had packed for us felt reassuringly plentiful.
“But that Elderly Woman will be completely powerless once she leaves the Ranch…”
“Indeed.”
“How will she get her Revenge then? Even a single Zombie seems too dangerous for her.”
Mina’s Ability, she’d explained, was to produce high-quality Milk. True to her identity as a Ranch Woman, her Ability was tied to Dairy Cows. It was thanks to this that we had just safely enjoyed our Milk. She’d said that the Milk she produced with her Ability was safe to drink without any special processing. The problem was, once she left the Ranch, she would be as good as powerless.
“Let’s not think that far ahead. She might just settle down and live there.”
“Hmm… I think she won’t last long out there before she dies.”
Originally, I had coveted the cows remaining in the Cow Shed. If she truly left the Ranch, what would become of the three remaining Dairy Cows? It seemed unlikely she would drag the Dairy Cows along with her. But after hearing about her Ability during breakfast, I let go of that desire. To her, the cows must mean more than just Livestock. If Mina was going to try anything, she absolutely needed the cows. Only then could she attempt to trade Milk with others. Besides, we had already received plenty.
“All set?”
“Mhm.”
Mina didn’t return until we had truly finished our departure preparations. We had already said our goodbyes earlier, and I’d told her we’d leave as soon as we were ready.
