Chapter 162. Recovery
Zombies have a wider range of hearing perception than sight.
That’s not to say they react to every sound around them, like the chirping of insects or the rustling of leaves in the wind.
I don’t know what their criteria are, but they react to unusual sounds.
*Thwack!*
Like the sound of me kicking off the ground with force, for instance.
I lunged towards them, using the same method I employed when fighting in the Town Center.
I could see the zombies’ heads slowly turning towards me.
But before they could fully register my presence and react, I was already right in front of the nearest zombie.
I didn’t want to collide with them.
Using the momentum from my leap, I simply brought my Baseball Bat to the zombie’s Head.
*Thwack!*
Watching the side of the zombie’s head shatter, I readjusted my grip on the Baseball Bat.
Black Blood spurted belatedly from its broken skull, scattering across the ground where I had just been.
My feet hadn’t even touched the ground yet.
With a firm grip on the Baseball Bat, I aimed it at the back of the head of the zombie to my left.
*Thwack!*
Then, I landed.
The recoil from leaping a long distance in a single bound traveled through the soles of my feet and into my body.
My sturdy and flexible body absorbed the impact smoothly.
*Kwaaaak!*
The zombies finally started to move.
First, they let out monstrous cries, then they swarmed me.
These zombies were clearly rushing me, just like all the others I’d encountered.
