Chapter 138. Comfort
“Aaaah! Kyaaah~”
“Hehehe. You like it that much?”
“Yes. The bike ride feels so refreshing. Why haven’t we seen any until now?”
“Did everyone who survived take them?”
“Seems that way, doesn’t it? Anyway, people in our country really love bikes.”
Hyeji excitedly pedaled her bicycle down the road.
What we found at Cheongpyeong Station was a bicycle parking lot. More than ten bicycles were lined up there. We picked out three of the best-conditioned bicycles.
“Euna, do you want to ride too?”
“Yeah…”
“Alright. I’ll definitely teach you next time.”
Euna, who had actually found the bikes, was walking, saying she’d never ridden a two-wheeler before. Her steps seemed heavy as she pulled two bicycles with both hands. Seeing her look so downcast while Hyeji happily rode her bike, I felt genuinely sorry for her.
“Euna, do you just want to get back on the Trolley? Let’s go a bit faster.”
“Yeah. Carry me.”
We stopped for a moment and attached the bicycles to both sides of the Trolley. We tied them with ropes to prevent them from falling and I carried Euna on my back. Then, I started running slowly.
“Oh? This isn’t bad? It feels more stable somehow.”
“Whoa… Mister, why are you so fast?”
Once I started running, I quickly caught up to Hyeji, who had been a little ahead. We left Cheongpyeong Station and got onto the main road. From here, we just needed to follow this National Road straight, then take the side path leading to Chogulbong Peak.
