Chapter 125. Companion
After lunch, we took a short break.
We left the building in the early afternoon.
Looking at the Futsal field covered in grass, memories of the first day resurfaced. Back then, Zombies appeared with the rain, and we suffered a lot, making the gloomy weather truly detestable.
‘I wish it would just rain already.’
Now, the brilliantly clear weather was what I resented.
Should we have rested a little longer and left in the early evening?
“Euna. Just undo the Shackles on her feet.”
“Yes…”
Euna used her Ability to release the Shackles from Hyeji’s ankles. They still had a long way to walk, and wearing Shackles would significantly reduce both her speed and Stamina.
“Carry me…”
“Alright.”
I picked Euna up and placed her on the handcart. The handcart’s Enchant had just finished. Euna said it was much sturdier now, strong enough to carry heavy loads and be pulled at any speed. She even suggested it could be used as a weapon to bash Zombies.
The next item for Enchant was the Shield I’d picked up yesterday. This transparent PC material shield was oval-shaped, with its widest diameter measuring about 55cm. A black sticker in the center read “police.” It was designed to be held with one hand, with an adjustable strap for the arm and a grip handle.
“Are you okay? Is anything uncomfortable?”
“I’m fine…”
I secured Euna, who was settled on the Double Bag, with a Rope and handed her the Shield. After checking on Euna, it was Hyeji’s turn.
A long Rope was tied to one side of the handcart’s frame. This Rope was connected to a choker made from a cut belt, and its owner was, naturally, Hyeji.
