Chapter 73
While Dan Woo-sung was having dinner with his family for the first time in a long while, Lee Sung-min, the head of the merchant guild, asked.
“It seems Miss Baek has been coming and going quite often. Hwa-eon mentioned they’re even preparing lodgings.”
Danwooseong nodded.
“That’s correct.”
Lee Sung-min asked while sipping his soup.
“Is she my first daughter-in-law?”
At his father’s question, Hwa-eon smiled faintly and looked at her brother.
Dan Woo-sung said.
“Shall we take her as a daughter-in-law?”
Lee Sung-min smiled and replied.
“That’s not for you to decide. It’s Baek Soja’s choice. From what I saw briefly, she seems intelligent. She’s also a benefactor of Eunhwasangdan. She appears to be the child of a martial family…”
“That’s right.”
Lee Sung-min pointed to the drawer and said to Lee Hwa-eon.
“Bring it over.”
“Yes.”
Lee Hwa-eon retrieved several letters from a drawer and returned, setting them down on one side of the table as he spoke.
“Baekri, Seomun, Dokgo, and even Murong…”
Danwooseong asked.
“What letters are these?”
Lee Hwa-eon replied.
“They’re letters proposing marriage discussions.”
It seemed almost every family except the Namgung clan had sent a letter.
Lee Seong-min looked at Dan Woo-seong.
“What kind of mischief have you been up to that all the prominent martial arts clans are scrambling to discuss marriage proposals with you?”
His tone wasn’t one of reproach, but rather one of utter bewilderment.
