The King Pursues
Day Thirteen of the Pursuit.
Danwooseong sat in a corner of the inn, studying a map. Points where someone had been attacked were marked on the map, and connecting those marks with a line clearly showed the direction of the killer’s movement heading east.
Dan Woo-seong’s expression as he studied the map was rougher than usual.
He had left Baekyak at the Galaxy Trading Guild, so he made no effort to groom his appearance. Though he didn’t grow much facial hair, his chin and under his nose were dark with stubble, and his long hair, which he’d been growing for some time, gave him the appearance of a vagabond.
He only entered inns when hungry, filling his belly.
The rest of the time was spent moving by walking, running, and looking around.
But in this vast central plain, simply heading east wasn’t enough to find him easily. There was no way to know if he was hiding in the mountains or lurking in the bustling city.
Therefore, Danwooseong was currently traveling eastward, drawing a straight line on the map and staying largely within that line, neither straying too far north nor south.
Initially, he had traversed the mountains, but now he was focusing his search primarily on the bustling districts.
The next page of the map contained the description of the man who had raided the postal station.
The initial description of the suspect was of a large build with disheveled hair. However, the description sent by the attacked merchant caravan depicted a suspect with different clothing and neatly styled hair. The suspect was changing their attire and appearance continuously while on the move.
