Chapter 133 The Clan
As the Martial Arts Tournament drew to a close, so too did the Alliance Assembly. The schedule for the Martial Alliance Assembly had, from the outset, been synchronized with the tournament, and with most of the crucial agenda items settled, all that remained was a smooth conclusion.
However, the passage of significant agenda items meant that the colossal workload had now been passed on to the practical staff. To implement the resolutions decided at the Alliance Assembly, the Shangpyeondang, essentially the executive branch, was drowning in paperwork day and night. Shangpyeondang Leader Yumyeon, a former bureaucrat who had never practiced Martial Arts, was even contemplating whether they should finally properly learn true martial arts now.
Thus, Yumyeon couldn’t help but feel annoyed seeing Gakwon simply enjoying tea when they had come to seek approval.
“Here are the matters requiring your approval with the Alliance Leader’s Seal this time.”
“Ah, is that so? Let’s have a look.”
Gakwon set down his teacup and picked up the stack of documents Yumyeon had brought in. They were fresh, still unbound, not yet rolled into scrolls.
Despite the tedious nature of the work, Gakwon maintained a constant smile. It wasn’t because the tea tasted good, or because the work was enjoyable. Yumyeon knew the reason behind that smile, yet still posed the question.
“Are you truly that pleased?”
“Haha, what do you mean?”
