Chapter 97: The Cipher
Returning to Heuksa’s house with Myohyang, I found the cleaning crew fiercely berating the Ten Demon Cultists.
“Who the hell are you people?!”
“Th-that is…”
The Eleven Ten Demon Cultists were at a loss, facing her unyielding, Maltese-like demeanor.
In the past, they were masters of dark arts who struck fear into the hearts of all around them—though perhaps not quite to the extent of “mountains, rivers, grass, and trees”—but now, having lost their inner strength and with broken limbs, they were worse off than the neighborhood vagabonds.
Spotting us, the cleaning crew immediately rushed over to confront us. I summarized the series of events that had transpired.
“What do you expect us to do if you just move out without a word?!”
Wait, what does it matter to the tenants whether the landlord sells the house or not?
“Sis, you’re being so mean! After all the time we spent together, how could you stab us in the back like this?!”
“Soso, I’m really sorry. I guess I was so excited about moving to the new place that I completely lost my head…”
“Hmph!”
Well, she could have just forgotten.
Watching her scold Myohyang, who had diligently looked after her throughout the closed-door training, was more than I could bear.
‘It’s about time I gave her a proper lesson.’
After neglecting her for a while, it seemed the spoiled daughter of the hospital chairman’s ungrateful nature had returned.
“Oh my! Young Lady Cheong, even so…”
Just as I was about to deliver that lesson.
