Chapter #362: Lion War (4)
Inside the castle lord’s quarters at the Nine Dragons Fortress.
Bukgungbaek and Mun Sang were putting their heads together to find a way to break through the impasse.
“This is frustrating.”
“My apologies.”
“What fault could Mun Sang have? The problem is those Lion Clan bastards have given up being human.”
“I should have anticipated that too…”
“No. Who could have predicted they’d destroy their own base just to flee?”
Bukgung Baek gazed northward toward the Lion Clan’s territory.
“The Lion Clan leader is indifferent to the clan’s affairs. It must have been decided by the bastards beneath him.”
“We must kill them all. Even if they escape, we must pursue them to the ends of the earth. Only then will the vengeful spirits of the innocent dead find some measure of solace.”
“I agree. It’s just a pity my feet are tied.”
“Hmm…”
The fact that they had gathered strength yet could not act weighed heavily on both their hearts.
“How long will it take for the rear to stabilize ?”
“In my humble opinion, it will take at least a year.”
“A year… That’s far too long. Is there no way to hasten the process?”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.”
After a moment of silence, Mun Sang sighed and spoke.
“Given how my shortcomings have been increasingly apparent lately, it seems the time has come for me to step down.”
“Stop saying you’re stepping down because you lack ability. Are you saying the head of the Hwaryong Hall should die if he lacks wisdom?”
