Chapter 167: Full Term Release
After obtaining the ancestor’s legacy.
The members of the Shadow Valley clan devoured the martial arts manuals as if they had some mortal enemy.
In a way, it was only natural.
Their eight years of effort had finally borne fruit.
I didn’t tell them that the original owner of the secret manual was North Palace Chusan.
The martial arts they had gathered weren’t even originally from the North Palace family to begin with.
‘Martial arts stolen…’
I simply couldn’t bring myself to tell them that their ancestor was a thief.
Besides, it was jointly owned anyway.
Moreover, there was one more thing I kept hidden.
It was the Seven Senses Doctrine.
I suspected there must be a reason it was kept separate, and after examining the manual in detail, I was certain my hunch was correct.
The Seven Senses Doctrine (七感道).
Judging solely by its title, it might seem like a Taoist scripture, but it was an immense technique capable of opening a new frontier in Qi Sensing Arts.
Of course, Qi Sensing Arts itself is a technique used by most martial artists – you use it, I use it.
It simply involves using Qi to enhance the five senses.
But the Seven Senses Doctrine was different.
It was a method of discerning surrounding objects or enemies based on the patterns of qi reflected back after being projected outward.
It was easy to understand if you thought of it as similar to sonar used in submarines.
Even the principle was similar.
Sonar emits sound waves and detects the reflected wavelengths, while the Seven Senses Path spreads qi waves and identifies the qi reflected back.
